Biography of :Janet: Grierson
Being a native of the island of Xaymaca and
exposed to the political arena from an early age
as young as 12 years old, I was blessed to have
a very influential Sovereign Maroon grandfather
loving known as papa, who was a self-determined
Sovereign Maroon in his own right, and a
humanitarian who fought the causes of working
class people through the Busta Manti Trade
Union.
Assigned the name of :Janet: Grierson, I was
reincarnated in to the earthy realms in the year
of 1961 to :James: Grierson who was a very
astute owner of a number of businesses
initiatives in Clarendon. Vere Dorrett Piper, is
my mother who was a very talented streamtress.
Being one of eight siblings, my childhood was
filled with much joy and happiness. I was
privileged to have been able to attend the
Brompton High School in May Pen, where the then
School principle was E.J Whiteman, I went onto
attend the all-Girls Mount St Joseph High School
in Manchester.
With
my Maroon spirit and continued learning of my
ancestral Maroon heritage from my papa, I
embarked on a humanitarian journey of my own, as
I began to assist the older generation by
joining an illiteracy programme to help with
their literacy aspirations to learn to read, as
a gifted child myself, being able to teach
others help me to understand the many and varied
needs of the less advantaged communities. This
lead me to develop skills in secretarial areas
as well as go onto secure employment with my
local Parish council in the Roads & Clerical
Works department.
I
later gained experience in the health sector
industry with my work in the infirmary as a care
giver, which also extended to assisting with
personal grooming of hair dressing and fashion
creations.
During the following years of 1977 I became a
presiding officer for the elections of that year
and was also active as a numerator of the
National census.
With
my inherited spirit of self-determination, I
continued to assist to support the social
development of youth programmes during that
time.
I
relocated to Canada during 1982 following an
invitation from extended family. A number of
years passed as I continued my journey on this
universe, allowing me to strengthen my inner
core spirit to overcome the many and varied
obstacles I have experienced along the way.
Evening classes allowed me to gain the relevant
qualifications to continue my work within the
Financial and Health care industry; specializing
in special need abilities.
Through my journey of personal development, I am
the proud mother of a beautiful Empress and the
grandmother of a handsome prince and a gorgeous
Princess. As I continue on this journey, I am
very much a people person and love to interact
with a public relations person, this has led
me to link with the :Nyan-Ko-Pong: Sovereign
Native People - Global Tribal Nation
Territories, Indigenous Maroon Government since
2021 and establish myself as the current High
Chief of the Canadian Maroon Government.
