"High Chief Minister :Jacqueline: Phillips."

Department: Chief Ministry of Education & Youth

Born in the Parish of Clarendon, I, Jacqueline Phillips am one of thirteen siblings, four sons’ nine daughters I am the fifth daughter, my mothers' name is Linda Hart and my fathers' name is Sylvan Phillips.

I was blessed to be a mother of three beautiful children two sons and a daughter, who in turn have made me an extremely proud grandmother of 5 gorgeous grandchildren 2 boys and 3 girls.

I am privileged to have journeyed through life with experiences that have led me to reside in the lush Parish of St Mary, within the Maroon Town of Scotts' Hall, this small but rich historical place continues to embrace and boast about its Maroon heritage, traditions, legacy and future endeavours in modern day times.

My childhood days are filled with many fond memories of growing up and going to school at the Scotts' Hall all Age school. Having spent some years in the Parish of St Ann with my grandmother and Aunt, attending the Claremont All age school, then continued my education within Fern Court High School.

Completing my school education back in the parish of St Mary at Queens High School, later attending the institute of higher learning to achieve seven C.X.C & O level Business subjects.

Spending my formatives years as a parent, has helped me to gravitate towards working with children. My passion for supporting community initiatives for the betterment of young people and their education to help them transition into well balanced young adults continues to be the power base that draws me to working with the local Scotts' Hall Primary school and the students' educational achievements and aspirations.

I am one of a group of individuals who have led the way to create a support network to assist the development of our local primary school through the "Past School Association"

With a love of the written word… my love of reading continues to spill over to encourage the young children I work with to also embrace and develop a love for literacy and the spoken word in all its many forms of exciting adventurous stories, fun filled jokes, riddles, rhymes and lyrical songs, that always seems to be able to put a smile on childrens' faces, which is a priceless achievement in it self in these modern times of much hardship for many families.

My interests further extend to a love in my natural surroundings of the lush nature of vegetation, trees etc, of which Scotts' Hall has been built around. I am greatly blessed with the love of God to be privileged to live in such a beautiful environment.

I am excited with the prospect of being part of the future developments and improvements of all schools especially the Scotts' Hall Maroon Town Primary.
