:Donnethe:
Mckoy. (AKA) Empress Ima, reincarnated on 9th
June 1970 in the Parish of St Catherine, Xaymaca
(aka Jamaica). Daughter of MatriArk mama Minda,
experiencing early child life within the Spanish
Town area, My childhood memories of school
include fun filled days at the McAuley Primary
School, Horizon Park, going on to complete my
school education at the Jose Marti Technical
High school in Twickenham Park.
Remembering good times in my teenage years, with
my love of music and sports in those days, as I
represented my school in track and field, along
with being the parish Festival Queen.
I can
icall the year of 1999 as this is when the
journey of Rastafari began and continues to
embrace my love of the life and faith as I
continue in this earthy realm. Memories of
reasoning with my grandmother came flooding back
as I write this biography…. Remembering the
first time I told her that ‘I am Rasta’ and I am
African… she would dismiss what I said and tell
me no, ‘You are Maroon”.
Career aspirations as a Road manager for
Ambassador Jr Lion a reggae artist from Swaliga
brought me to St Maarten in 2005. Having fell in
love with the Island, this is where I chose to
establish my home.
Having set up a number of business ventures
involving arts and crafts, fresh Ice cream that
is made on the spot as you wait along with my
Ital & Vegan food catering provision, I decided
to merge the businesses together and established
my ‘Inique Tosh B.V’ commercial business entity
which is very well known across the island as
the only Rasta shop where you can purchase such
culture items
Little did I know that these past experiences
would resonate as such important times in my
life, which have led me to where I am today - in
the prestigious position of being the :Nyan-ko-pong:
Sovereign Maroon High Chief of St Maarten.
Very best
High Chief :Donnethe: McKoy.
